Garza Pools builds and restores pools on Point Loma's hillside and bayside lots — engineered for the slope and finished for the salt air.
Point Loma is one of San Diego's oldest neighborhoods, and it shows in the best way. Many homes in La Playa, Loma Portal, Roseville, and Fleetridge were built between the 1920s and the 1960s, while the Wooded Area and Sunset Cliffs have homes on slopes that look out over the bay or the ocean. Plenty of those properties got a pool decades ago — and plenty of view lots have room for one that was never built.
That makes Point Loma a mix of two kinds of projects. The first is bringing an older pool up to date: a new surface, new tile and coping, and modern equipment, often along with decking that finally matches the house. The second is a new pool on a sloped lot, which takes real structural planning — footings, retaining walls, and drainage that sends water away from the house and the neighbors below. Done right, the pool ends up exactly where the view is.
Two things we handle specifically in Point Loma. First, much of the peninsula sits in the coastal zone, where some projects need an extra permit review — we check your property early and handle it. Second, the streets are narrow and the lots sit close together, so we plan equipment access, parking, and staging carefully to keep the project from taking over the neighborhood. Near the water, we use materials rated for salt air.
