Santee is a family town. Neighborhoods like Carlton Hills, Carlton Oaks, and Sky Ranch are full of homes with kids, dogs, and weekend barbecues, and newer neighborhoods on the north side of town keep adding more. The San Diego River runs right through the middle of Santee, but in the heat of summer, the water most families want is in their own backyard.

Family pools come down to details you use every day. Wide entry steps and benches so younger kids can get in and out easily. A shallow area or tanning ledge for little ones and for adults who just want to sit in the water. A spa that stays warm on cooler nights. Two things we plan for specifically in Santee. First, inland summers are hot, so deck surfaces need to stay comfortable underfoot and shade needs to be part of the plan, not an afterthought. Second, many of the newer neighborhoods have HOAs that review backyard projects — we provide the drawings they need up front, so their sign-off doesn't slow the start of construction.
